Aamir Khan starrer comedy-drama 3 Idiots has grossed over Rs 315 crore ($70 million) globally in 19 days since its release, a statement by Reliance BIG Entertainment, the film’s distributor, said Tuesday.
Based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller Five Point Someone, the film has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Mimo and Niloy won super hero and super heroine crowns at the grand finale of the talent hunt programme ‘Fair & Lovely Super Hero Super Heroine’ held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Wednesday.
The first runners-up were Bashury as heroine and Sohan as hero while the second runners-up were Prema as heroine and Rose as hero.
Champions Niloy and Mimo received Tk two lakhs each and the first runners-up Sohan and Bashury received Tk one lakh and 50 thousand each.

Film enthusiasts of the country will soon get an opportunity to watch last year’s multi-Oscar-winning film “Slumdog Millionaire” on big screen. Production house Impress Telefilm Limited and mobile phone operator Aktel have brought the film to Bangladeshi theatres.
The film will be screened at theatres in and outside Dhaka, starting from October 9. Prior to the release, the Bangladesh premiere of the film was held yesterday at the Star Cineplex, Bashundhara Shopping Mall.

Ace script writer Rensil D’Silva’s directorial debut film Kurbaan is finally out of the bag.

More alive than dead
‘Wanted’ is Salman Khan’s Ghajini. No, he doesn’t suffer from any short-term memory loss in the film. Rather he mouths about half a dozen times the dialogue: “Ek baar maine jo commitment kar di, phir main apni bhi nahin sunta”. But, like Aamir, Sallu does get to flaunt his rippling muscles, his biceps, triceps, abs, and what not (including the glint of his Vicco-vajradanti teeth), in a series of bone-breaking, jaw-crushing, blood-spluttering fights that makes you feel he’s the ‘last action hero’ that sadly came too late in the day.
